My Thoughts On Chris Soule's Season of the Bachelor So Far (including GIFs!)

Bachelor Mondays: an excuse to drink wine past the weekend

Before I became obsessed with the Bachelor, I absolutely dreaded Mondays. I mean, realistically, what is there to like? Monday marks the weekend being over, weekly responsibilities resuming and it just seems so far away from Friday.

But now, thanks to the the Bachelor, I can look forward to Mondays with the excitement of curling up on the couch, glass of wine in hand, as a group of women and one man provide all of the romance, drama and craziness a person needs in a two-hour period.

Despite enjoying this season so far, I have to admit that I was rooting for Arie from Emily's season to be cast as the new bachelor. He was always a favourite of mine, has that whole tall, dark and handsome look going on and c'mon, those steamy, passionate kisses with Emily? Having him on the show would be like a much more romantic remake of 50 Shades of Grey each week.

But alas, Chris, another easy pick, was chosen. At first, I was afraid that he would be boring since he didn't really catch my attention during Andi's season, but I think that the fact that he is genuine and has good intentions, overshadows that. So far, he's shown viewers that he's a gentleman and incredibly forgiving. Just think of the countless girls he's let come back into the show, including ones he sent home on the first night and others who took advantage of the free booze a little too much.

All in all though, he seems like the perfect man: handsome, smart, career-focused and incredibility down-to-earth (get it?).

With that being said, let's take a look at all of the romantic, funny and just plain crazy things that I've noticed from this season so far:

I loved Brittany

Britt was an favourite early on for both viewers and Chris, but I think that it was the jealousy of other girls that got her side-swept in drama. Carly, especially, was critical of Britt. She would often make fun of her in the dairy sessions and she was the one who told Chris that Britt was lying about loving Arlington. Although the possibility of her being the next bachelorette is probably up in smokes now, I still think that she was a strong contender had it not been for all of the drama.

Kelsey and Ashley. S are bat-shit cray

Saying that your husband's death provided you with an "amazing story," referencing to at the layers of an onion over and over and telling a guy you love him after spending five minutes with him... yep, all qualities of the clinically insane.

Chris has the thinnest lips I've ever seen

I've kissed guys with thin lips before and let me tell you, it didn't go over well. So when I see these girls kiss him, I can't help but notice how they're having difficulty. It's definitely the reason we have only truly seen peck kisses so far instead of steamy make outs.

cannot stand Carly

Ugh, besides playing a role in Britt going home, I could not stand Carly. She started so much drama, rolled her eyes all of the time and those eyebrows... don't even get me started on those eyebrows. I stand by that theory of never trusting a girl with bad eyebrows.

I can't stand Whitney's voice

If you check out my live-tweeting of the Bachelor each week, you'll notice that I harp on Whitney's voice a lot. I know it's mean, but I'm among the countless others who simply cannot stand it. I honestly don't know how Chris does, but luckily she has many other amazing qualities that overshadow it.

Becca isn't ready for love and commitment like this yet

While I think that Becca is your all-round girl-from-next-door with a sweet heart, great family and amazing values, I just don't think that she's ready for the commitment of marriage and changing her entire life. Relationships take a lot of work and if she hasn't experienced love yet, she may not be able to handle the ups and downs, especially while stuck in the small town of Arlington.

SO many tears

Someone get these girls a tissue

There must have been something in the wine they were drinking cause these girls were one emotional bunch. The smallest things set them off, from not getting a chance to go on the princess-themed date, reading a date card that might include the possibly of heights and getting upset when Chris couldn't devote all of his time to each of them individually.

These girls drink an insane amount of wine

Now, there's nothing wrong with being a total wino, but these girls were shown drinking wine as much as they drank water. The cameras would often show them lounging around the pool early in the morning, wine glass already in hand as they tanned by the pool. But, you know what they say? More wine = more drama. Win-win for the ratings.

Kaitlyn is a Canadian gem and my prediction for the next bachelorette

Really, what's not to love with Kaitlyn? She's cute, funny, charming and Canadian. She stole our hearts early on in the show and has maintained it ever since. Last week, she was sadly blindsided when Chris sent her home, but don't worry, I have a strong feeling that she'll be the one calling the shots and handing out roses soon.

Whitney is best-suited for Chris

Out of all the girls on the show, I truly believe that Whitney is best-suited for Chris. She's closer to his age, extremely mature and has said, time and time again, that her role in life now is to be a wife and a mother. And just think of the cute, high-pitched blonde babies they would make. Aw.

I mean, look at them. Adorable.
